BEACHCOMBING: Discover the Secrets of the Shore

A hands-on coastal exploration for homeschool families

Join HRI Education at Michael J. Ellis Beach & Seawall on North Padre Island for an hour of exploring, discovering, and beachcombing together.

What we'll do:

 Explore Beach Treasures
We'll start with a short, interactive show-and-tell featuring interesting things we've found along the Texas coast. Shells, marine life, natural treasures, and maybe a few surprises!

 Go Beachcombing
Then we'll head onto the beach as a group to search for our own discoveries.

 Become a Coastal Detective
Along the way, we'll talk about what we find, where it came from, and what it can tell us about the Gulf of Mexico and the animals that call our coast home.

Program length: Approximately 1 hour
